Error installing Async Server CU10

hi, im triying to install Async Server CU10, but in the validation checklist i got a error about SQL cmd utility, first i downloaded from the recomended link, after validate and got this error, after i tried downloading and installing from the Feature Pack (SQL SERVER 2012 SP3) but when i validate i got again the same error. Async Server and DB Server are in different machine.

Luis, are you installing utility on Async server or DB server. try to install it on DB Server.

Hi Luis,

.

a. "The SQLCMD utility is required to install Async Server. This utility is typically installed with Microsoft SQL Server. If a version of SQL Server is not installed on the computer where you install Async Server, you can download and install Microsoft Command Line Utilities 11 for SQL Server to meet this requirement."

b. Check the database permissions and network permissions. Maybe some police are barring the installation.

c. Try install Async Server using Powershell. See option 2 in this link. Perhaps the setup returns the source of the error. See also this topic.

d. You are installing using slip stream? Try to install individually the component and then the CUs.

.

e. Workaround: Create the message database on a local instance of sqlexpress on the same machine that you installing Async Server. Once installed the Async Server and the message DB, You can moved the message DB to the instance that you wanted.

Thank you Rodolfo, i tried to install via PowerShell both services (Async Server and Real Time Services) and everything works well.
