Thought on removal of OOTB security roles on production instance

Hi All,

so what are your thoughts on removing OOTB security roles that are not in use by the org. on the production instance just to get a cleaner list especially for a service desk org that handels users and security roles. It seems all to often that users get wrong security role just cause it accidently go clicked by servidesk while scrolling though all roles.

So is there any risk of removing OOTB security roles on the prod instance? They can remain on the dev instance!

best regards

Martin

    Hi,

that was my thought too, but wanted some confirmation on it,:)  and yes I will keep them in our dev environment so we are able to use them as template or bring them back to prod if needed.

thanks for the reply and confirmation

    regards

    Hi Martin,

If you are not using out of the box security roles (no one is assigned ) you can remove them, but keep in mind when you want to setup some security role they help you like a template to define new role so you can use them to create new role easily. But you can bring them from other environment if and when required as well.

    Thanks
