Fixed Asset Extraordinary depreciation doesn't allow asset depreciation to 0

Hello all,

I currently have configured a fixed asset with Straight life depreciation on a monthly basis.

Everything seem perfectly fine also when I check the Profile to see the course of depreciation on the future periods:

After a while a run a manual extraordinary depreciation of 100K and then I notice that the asset net value will remain 100K:

The values of monthly depreciation of course that change as I decreased the value of the asset but the last depreciation is set in 2030 and not 2034 as it should be. My depreciation period remaining have not changed yet so I don't understand what is missing here.

Has anyone experienced something like this?

Hi,

Are the screenshots from the same fixed asset? The first screenshot has dates until March 2034 while the second screenshot is ending in September 2030.

Have you also tried the depreciation method Straight line (life remaining)? This is calculating the depreciations in a different way, ensuring it adopts to value or remaining periods while the asset is active.

Hi Andre,

Thank you for the quick reply. Both screenshots come from the same Fixed asset, first screen shot is when normal course of depreciation was done and the second one is when an extra depreciation was run and it shows future depreciations util 2030 and not 2034 anymore.

Depreciation run until the 30/04/2025 and an extraordinary run both on 30/04.
