How to stop blocked sales items appearing in the item list on a sales order

HI All

We are on F&O 10.0.0.x

We have thousands of released products, and 80% are components that belong to BOM's. We have "Stopped" checked in the default order settings, but when you enter a sales line, the item lookup still shows all the blocked items. You will get a warning that it's on hold, but the problem is when sales guys search for "chocolate" they find a ton of manufacturing components instead of just finished goods that are saleable. Is there a way to prevent these from showing, so that sales are not wading through dozens of products they can't sell.

Thanks

mark

    Markmj,

    An age-old problem.

The default order setting flag 'stopped' will prevent it from transacting, but to remove the appearance of this item from the drop-downs on a sales order or purchase order line, you'll need to consider a modification.

Without knowing your entire business process, you may find customer item lists helpful to some extent, as the end-user would then be shown a list of items allowed for the customer that they can select from before being brought directly back to the atypical sales order form.

    Hi marmj,

You can use the new feature PLM (Product Life cycle management) and create a blocked Status.

then eclude this status using XDS for the sales orders.

    Kind regards,

    Mehdi AMRANI

In addition to using PLM / an XDS policy, you could also consider creating a call center and create an assortment that will contain only the sellable products.
