Financial dimension name change

Hello All,
I have one question related to Financial dimensions.
Our customer wants to change the name of a financial dimension /custom one/ from X to Y.
The values of the dimension will remain the same. T
he dimension is included in financial dimension sets and also in Accounting structure.
We tried a change /with activated maintenance mode/ but we receive and error:
Dimension DIM2_ProductGroup exists as an extension column on Dimension code combination (DimensionCombinationEntity) and Dimension code set (DimensionSetEntity). You cannot change the name until this extension is removed.
Could someone advice is it possible such change to be done and if yes - how?

    Instead of changing the dimension name, you can change the label on forms using the Translations button. The dimension name will then remain "X", but the text on the form will be "Y".
    I wrote a blog about this topic before. The blog was based on AX2012, but the Translations button is still available in Dynamics 365: Manage the order of default dimensions on forms - AX 2012 - Dynamicspedia
