Announcements
Good morning,
in GP 2018 we have multiple companies, over the years some of these companies have been merged together into new companies (the new company could have as much as 10 "old" companies consolidated), but of course the "old" databases and therefore companies in GP still exist.
I wondered if there was a way to create like a homepage per company, or a message per company where the user gets alerted, when they log in into one of the old companies, that they logged into a company that is merged into a consolidated company.
Just to be clear not all companies have merged into one, just some.
Thanks
Hans
You can mark a company as <TEST> or <HISTORICAL> which will display a dialog message on login. GP Power Tools can make enabling this functionality very simple. It also fixes the bug with this core functionality when the <TEST> or <HISTORICAL> terminology is in a different language on a multi-lingual system.
You can also use a After Login trigger to display any message of your choosing.
If the companies should no longer be used, do you still need to allow access to the them, you can always deny access.
Finally, as mentioned by Richard, GP Power Tools can change the background colours on a per company basis to any of the 100+ themes or your choice of 16.7 millions colours.

As has been mentioned, it would be a customization of some type. Some examples have been provided by the Community. Thanks
Yes, it can be done via customization. You have to provide information like company a, b, c and d are consolidated into company z. this info can be either kept in some table or can be hard coded inside dex code so at login it can be checked .
GP Power Tools can give you different colors for each company. Make the old companies some obnoxious color.
