Notifications on Purchase orders

Hi All,

Is it possible to create a notification rule to notify requesters on a purchase req of amendments on a purchase order, created from the purchase req.

For example if a delivery date is changed on a purchase order, the original requester on the purchase req is notified as a result?

This would have to be done as a new purchase confirmation is generated, and the affected changes thereof.

    Hi NMC2,

What you are looking for requires in my opinion a system modification.

As a workaround, you can check whether using the alert functionality is sufficient. It might not exactly fit what you are looking for but might be an acceptable workaround as you can inform people about changes that have been made for example to the PO.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thank you so much Ludwig.

With alerts, please correct me if i am wrong, there is no way to notify other users based on the criteria for eg. requester.

It seems it is either a set user, or to myself?

Is there no way currently to set up rule based notifications?

Yes, you can set up based on UserID. In your case, it would be your requester's userID. What do you mean by rule based notifications? You can select a field and select an event that corresponds to the field to set alert. An example would be to field "Purchase Order" with an event "Record has been created". In this alert your userId will receive an alert every time a new record/purchase order has been created.

    Hi NMC2,

You are right. With alerts you could either notify another AX user (or yourself) or send an alert to an email-address, which can - for example - be a centrally managed mail box that is different from your personal email.

From what you wrote, I do not believe that this might be sufficient for you. Yet, it might be worth testing around probably with a centrally managed email box.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

This is standard function, you can implement this case without customization
