NAV 2013 Server "Time Zone" error

Build 33781

Hi,

I have a issue regarding field datetime.

I'm using the function currentdatetime to insert the datetime fields.

The values in the database are rights, instead in NAV I'm getting the values increased by two hours.

The Services Default Time Zone in to the Microsoft  Dynamics NAV Server console is "Server Time Zone".

Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

Lorenzo

    Hey Lorenzo,

Yes the datetime will always get stored as UTC on SQL Server but when you access the record from Navision CLient it will show you based on your client time zone.

    Thanks Saurav,

The time zone regional settings on the local machine is UTC+1.

The time zone regional settings on the server with database MSSQL is UTC+1.

When I enter the DateTime (i.e. using currentdatetime) it is converted in UTC in MSSQL database.

    Is it correct?

    Let me know

    Thank you very much.

    HI Lorenzo,

As you said the Values in Database are right i assume you meant to say that values in SQL are correct.

    Am i correct?

IF that is the case and as per my understanding the date time get stored in SQL as standard without any time zone but when we access the same field in Navision the values comes as per my system Time Zone Settings.

A DateTime is stored in the database as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

The DateTime is always displayed as local time in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Local time is determined by the time zone regional settings used by your computer. You must always enter DateTimes as local time. When you enter a DateTime as local time, it is converted to UTC using the current settings for the time zone and daylight savings time.
