Logs on transaction between the . NET business connector and DB

Hello all

I have an external application connecting to AX2012 R3 CU8 using the AX business connector. However I would like to see the logs of the transactions / communications between the Connector, AX and the DB. Is there any logs being recorded for these kind of transactions?

Thanks!

Abby

Can you please elaborate what kind of data you would like to log and why?

By the way, the connector doesn't communicate with database server; it connects to AOS.

The external application logged in and retrieved wrong info. I have the time and date when this happened but any logs with regards to these transactions would be helpful. Like the query, login user etc.

Thanks for the correction. I only saw the option of turning on the SQL Server Profiler and mistyped. Its corrected now.

The only option on AX I am seeing is to modify the config to capture the info on the event Viewer but don't think this would be helpful in my case.

The SQL Server profiler is also for going forward and this was not turned on for the date in question.

So is there anything that the logs capture by default when an external application connects to AX?

    Thanks!

In general, not many things are logged by default, because excessive logging could slow down business operations.

If you want to enable some logging for future use, plan what you need. You mentioned a query and user logs, you can also log error messages, use event tracing and so on. I can't suggest anything specific unless I know more about the problem than just "it retrieved wrong info".

You may also change the external application so it logs what it does.
