Catch weight items in MPOS

Posted on by 390

Hi all,

We use catch weight items.  I was able to see them in Retail Commerce Product Hierarchy and I ran Distribution schedule for Products.  But I am not able to see them in MPOS.  Does anyone know if Catch weight items work in MPOS?

Thanks,

Yan

    Hi Yan,

Catch weight items are not supported by us. There’s no item in the backlog for the same planned.

Regardless of what may be state of our current roadmap, we are always seeking feedback from our external community members.

The vehicle for that feedback is ‘Ideas Portal’. Please add your feedback on ideas portal and we will review it during future semester planning exercises.

If you will create an Idea, please share a link there so other community members also could vote.

As far as i know serialized item feature will be there in next upcoming releases but still there is no clear roadmap for catch weight functionality at POS.

I can understand your situation as your products required 02 UOMs to process from MPOS(Inventory Unit and catch weight unit). Can you tell me about your products please with some examples like Fish (inventory unit = Case) and (Catch weight = Weight/Pound)

We are in a dilemma.  All inventory items require two UoMs.  We use catch weight so all inventory activities can be tracked for both UoMs.  Do you have a suggestion on how to process sales for CW item in MPOS?

It would be great if there is a timeline for the feature to be available in MPOS.

And my strong recommendation is not to customize this functionality at POS due to catch weight complexity.

Yes Microsoft is working to enhance this functionality and bring catch weight in POS solution but currently there is no confirm release date. Please keep checking D365 commerce and retail new and planned features for furture updates on Microsoft docs.

Thank you Junaid for the confirmation.  What is your recommendation in this situation?  Is there a future plan to have CW items available in MPOS?

    Hi YanQ,

We dont have catch weight functionality in MPOS and CPOS. Catch weight only works in back office on Purchase and Sales Orders.
