Journal Name Setup Voucher Series drop down does not show the Voucher Series created

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Journal Name Setup Voucher Series does not show the Voucher Series created with Scope of Company and Fiscal Year.

If selected only company it shows correctly.

The other scope of company+fiscal year is not shown for selection.

    Hi Abdul,

If you go to Organization administration > Common > Number sequences > Segment configuration

Select General ledger in Area section and Journal batch number in the Reference section, you will see that this only supports Company and doesn't support Fiscal year.

    Hello Abdul M,

Personally, I would not use separate Journals for each year because you might get a huge number of journals over time.

About your number sequence setup, i would recommend that you have a look at the following post (dev.goshoom.net/.../year-in-number-sequence) This post explains things nicely and also allows you seeing potential pitfalls.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

The requirement is to have different number sequence for each year - Audit Requirement.

To achieve this the idea is to create different journal names for each year and have company and fiscal year as a scope .

    Hello Abdul M,

Can you share details of your number sequence setup?

Did I get you right that you entered the fiscal calendar year into your number sequence. If so, what is the reason behind making this setup?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
