where is the data from abandoned Double-Opt-in form submissions go?

I have noticed that double-opt-in form submissions don't show up in dynamics (even pending) until the contact clicks the emailed link to opt-in.

Where does that data live until opt-in? is there a way to query for "abandoned" form submissions where the contact submitted the form but never clicked the opt-in link in the email?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Joshua,

The behavior is by design: contact information is not stored until after the customer confirms the opt-in via email, so it won't generate actual submission record in Insights before confirmation.

DOI process is special, the pending submission will be stored in somewhere of back-end service.

I am afraid that it is not supported to query them before confirmation from the contact, however, once the confirmation button is clicked by recipient, the pending submission will be loaded in Insights, and the timestamp is still the moment that contact submitted the form.

thats a bummer.. would be REALLY useful to at least get metrics on abandonment of double opt in..

    Hi Joshua,

    Sorry for inconvenience.

In my opinion, even though form submissions could be logged from technical perspective, however, we can only view these data in form after having received consent from contacts due to GDPR regulation.

Given that the instance of customer insights this data sits in is locked away from us, the submission count could be two metrics.  And the submission data doesn’t have to be shared.

would be a new metric. But with Double Opt in a metric on submission count followed by an Opt-in metric would be quite useful. Sure we don’t gain new contacts. But if we have hi form fill metrics and low opt-in metrics that is super important and no less anonymous than web logs so no gdpr issues.

undersfand not sharing the data... but the roll ups would still be valuable that’s all I’m suggesting.
