RibbonWorkbench - get entity value and use it opening a new window to display his content

Hello there,

I need a quick hand with something, i'm trying to read a value for an entity and pass it throught Ribbon Workbench to a button... all is working fine, but the value that i'm reading supposed to be a URL, so i need to pass that value to the action url but when i do it i get a new crm iframe open with the url of the crm and the value of the parameter... how can i reach this goal? its possible to pass that value to a new window with ribbon workbench?

Here a picture of what i'm seeing after set the values to the button.

and this is when i click on the button, and what i need is yes, open that window, but with the url i set on the CRM field value...

Any clue for me with this?

    Hello,

    I'm afraid to make that configurable you will have to instead of Open Url action will have to use call javascript. And to open a new form and pass something inside you can use Xrm.Utility.openEntityForm - mahadeomatre.blogspot.com/.../xrmutility-functions-openentityform.html in case you want to open some entity form.

    If this is regular url with parameter passed inside you will have to use window.open

    Feel free to describe your scenario and you will be helped.

    And update your screenshots - those are not shown on my side.

    Hi Andrew... thanks for the comment... looks my scenario is this:

    on opportunities i have a new ribbon button, and also have a javascript to retrieve a value (which is an url of a webservice), what i need to do is when i press the button get that value retrieved and open it on a new window for now, this is to test that the WS will be invoked correctly. i have all working less the open of the new window with the new url that i need to open.

    As I mentioned you will have to move your logic to JS webresource, build url to open inside it, and open it using window.open method. Good luck.
