Creating a work flow to copy data from one field to another

On a company record I want to be able to copy the data from the mailing address fields (address 1) to the physical address fields (address 2) by adding a 'Copy to Physical Address' check box to the form that users can use. This would make inputting information a bit faster if the form could populate the physical address fields with the click of a button.

Can this process be achieved by creating a workflow?

You might try something like this - adding you check box field and then use a workflow similar to this to copy the value(s).

where is the rest of the workflow, with the details of how to copy from one field to another?

The only step not shown above is the last step of actually updating the field data. Once you have your "if" statement, add the step "Update Record"

Then choose "Set Properties" to to copy data from one field to the other. Here's what my form update looks like:

Unfortunately it cannot work in my situation as the field I am trying to copy to is a "Look up" field. :(
