Hi,
In NAV, we have a BOM and routing for a BIKE. The material and labor for the BIKE are to make a standard bike.
The bike is configured in Experlogix (a configurator addon) to add a seat the customer wants. In the configurator, we choose a RED SEAT to be included with the Bike. The configurator can then create a multi level production order, where the BIKE is the top level and RED SEAT is indented.
My question is when the production order is completed, does the cost of the RED SEAT roll up under the BIKE?
Note the RED BIKE also has a BOM and Routing setup in NAV.
Though my question is related to a configurator, I'm really inquiring on the stock functionality of NAV, and if costs of indented production order lines roll up in to the parent line on the production order.
Thanks,
Steve

I have the same question (0)First af all it depends on how you include in your BOM the Red Seat .
If you have Bike's BOM including red seat as an item ,you should have a separate production order for the RED SEAT, once you complete (and close, usually costing is updated on prod. order changing status from released to closed), the RED SEAT item , its cost is calculated based on BOM and Routing (of Red Seat, of course). So now, when you'll produce the Bike, when it'll be completed, global costing will be properly calculated.
Otherwise, if Red Seat is included as a BOM in Bike's BOM, i think you're missing at least manpower's costing.
