Stuck in Retail Essentials Mode

Hi Everyone,

First, I am new to AX 2012 R3 setup so if this is a naïve question, sorry. I am setting up AX 2012 R3 and I was getting an error that I found the solution for was to enable Retail Headquarters. I enabled Retail headquarters and did not check any other retail boxes. Everything seemed fine until I existed AX. When I came back in I could only see Retail Essentials, all of my other modules were gone. I found that I can get to them by going to Tools > View > Modules but I don't want to have to do this every time I enter AX since we do not use Retail at all. When I bring up the System Administration Module, I only see Retail in the license configuration. When I bring up License Information, I can only add a license, there is no other option.

Can someone tell me how do I get out of Retail Essentials Mode and get my normal AX interface back. This is very annoying behavior and I am really stuck. In addition, I have no customizations implemented. I have a lot of configuration data in place and I don't want to loose it.

Thanks, Jerry

    Update for D365 Version!, I thought it will be helpful to share this solution in case someone passed by having same issue in D365:

    In D365 Finance and Operations it's a little bit different, if you need to enable Full feature set back, you have to go to License Configuration screen and expand Retail Node and uncheck the license key "Dynamics 365 for Retail".

    Note: In (production / sandbox) environment first you have to enable maintenance mode from LCS before being able to edit License Configuration.

    I found the answer at: kurthatlevik.wordpress.com/.../dynamics-ax-2012-r3-retail-essentials

    You need to go to;

    - Channels- setup license configuration on Retail Essentials Screen

    - Then add the configuration key "Full feature set" which will not be ticked.

    This may take a while as it will enable all the keys again so be patient.

    Then you will need to add the modules from the bottom right >> button on the menu settings, this is because the modules will not be shown and remain hidden for some reason

    Yes but this doesn't get me back to having access to all of the functionality in my license configuration.

    Hi,

    Not sure about the this strange behavior.If you have access to AOT, manually add the menus to the menu: MainMenu to get the normal interface back.
