how to make Activity mandatory in project

Hi All

In the project module i want to do the following:

  • i want to make the Activity mandatory at the time of any transaction in the project module.
  • I want to attach the category against activity so that when the user create the budget and select the activity category will come automatic and if he want he can change

Can anyone suggest me how can i achieve this.

    Hi Imran,

    There are settings in the parameters and on the project to have the Activity required at transactions.

    For defaulting the category: This is only working for hour transactions if the category is also an hour category. If you need to have defaults for other project types, you need a customization.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I checked that option already in the parameters journal section, "require activity" i checked mark all three transaction but still the journals posting with out asking for the activity.

    Verify you have all the Hot Fixes related to "Require Activity".  Can you provide information as to which business documents are not validating that activity has been specified.  Also note that this is a "Per Project" setting which is defaulted from the project parameters setup at time of project definition.

    Yes you are right, i created the project before check mark "required activity" in parameter and i was checking only on the parameter form. Now the problem is fixed i update the "Require Activity" on the project, as you suggested.
