Use the same Connection Role with the Target Record and the Source Record

The Microsoft documentation claims that you can "Apply the same role to the source record and to the target record. A “friend”, a “team member”, or a “colleague” are examples of roles that could be applied to both records in the connection."

However, I can't implement this. I create a "Sibling" Connection Role. I can't add "Sibling" to the Matching Connection Roles subgrid, it doesn't show up as an option to add. I also can't update the records manually. If I create a Connection between Josh and James only one of the Connection records between them can reference the Sibling Role. If I try to give the Role to the other sibling it is removed from the first sibling

So is the documentation lying or is there another way to accomplish this? Or am I just stuck making 2 Sibling Role records?

    Yes! Thank you.

For others, the problem was that I was creating the Connection Roles in the CRM front end interface and then trying to use the "Matching Connection Roles" tab to add the reciprocal role. When I made the roles there, I was not able to add the Sibling role to the matching role subgrid, because the role would not appear in the search.

When I opened my solution using the classic interface and created the Connection Roles in the solution directly, it worked exactly as Luis showed. Sure wish the documentation called that out better!

    Hello,

Have you tried adding "Matching Connection Roles"?

For example, if I add "Sibling" as a matching conection role

I can add the contacts as "Siblings" for both "From" & "To"

    From record 1

    From record 2

    Does this help?
