New User created in AAD when a new employee is created in D365 FO

Hi All

Is there any way when a new employee is created in D365 FO , automatically it creates an AAD user with the same employee name . Currently when a new employee is created in d365 fo, we create a new user in the AAD manually. Can this be done automatically in d365 FO?  like to write a trigger when a new user is created in D365 , automatically any API to be connected to AAD and create a new user. Is that possible?

Regards

There is no standard structure in Ax. It's technically possible, but even if there is such an api, I don't think you can find it in d365fo community. If you can find such api we can help you to use it in d365fo.

It will be much easier to find what you are looking for in Azure forms.

    Hi Vamsa,

You can use Power Automate to create users in AAD based on Dynamics 365 information. I did it before on the Users table to create demo users in a tenant: How to setup demo users in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - Dynamicspedia

In this blog, you will also find a link to download the Power Automate Flow, so you can use it for your own learning.

In my example, the trigger is manually, but can also be a recurring Flow. With help of alerts and Business Events, you can have a trigger for Power Automate when an employee has been created. Then you don't need to loop all employees.

Hi Andre. Thank you so much. Indeed, it was a very useful link. Just a question. I haven't worked on it yet. In my scenario, I need to change the object ID to the field name from HR module is it. Because i need information of Employee Last name and first name and to formulate the email as lastname.firstname@comanydomain   .. Is that should work fine..

    Hi Vamsa,

The User ID field will only allow for 20 characters. There might be a big chance that concatenating the lastname and firstname will exceed this. Formatting the email address would not give any issue.

Ok Thank you Andre. I will check it soon.
