Hello everybody,

We are trying to guess in our company how many licenses we need to go live with Dynamics AX, and we have found a trouble becouse nowadays we have some generic users (used at the factory) that log in into different computers.

And my simply question is... is it possible to have one user logged in 2-3 computers at the same time? We have tried and it seems to be possible but we do not know if it is in legal terms.

    You should take a look at the AX Licensing Guide, and speak to your partner if you're not 100% clear.

    With that caveat aside, if you have devices (computers) which are used by several users, you can get a Device CAL, which covers a computer, no matter who uses it.

    The scenario we have here is just the oposite, we have one user that uses different computers.

    I'll check the AX Licensing Guide in case our partner doesn't have it clear.

    If it really is one person using several screens (even if they are doing so simultaneously) then I believe you could get a User CAL, and that user is covered for use on any device.

    In this case, I believe you would only breach the license agreement if different people were sharing the login of one user.
