How to embed Yammer into AX client?

Hi All,

I’ve got an assignment to integrate Yammer into AX2012.

For example – I have list page of Sales Orders (SO), and I need to have a Yammer discussion (at lower part of the form) for every SO, so the idea is to display a discussion regarding for every single SO, and change (update related) the discussion every time when the user clicks another SO.

In related post that I’ve found (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 + Yammer) – not exactly what I’m looking for.

I think, that there is no a completed answer on this question (maybe I’m wrong), so I appreciate any architectural advises or high level steps of your vision of how to implement this idea.

Thank you

Aleksandr

Instead of embedded into the role center, what if the Yammer application were embedded in the SO form itself?  Is that what you're thinking?

    Hi Brandon,

Thank you for quick response. Yes, this is exactly what I want: I need to have a Yammer discussion embedded into SO form (in AX client, not the Role Center). SO – could be a service, so the user can have a chat with any related person through the Yammer.

You can embed an HTML page in an ActiveX control within a form.  Use the form DocuView as an example.

Only a small suggestion, instead of using the ActiveX control, use a ManagedHost control and use in it from the System.Forms namespace a WebBrowser.

    Brandon, thank you for suggestion.

I’ll check this approach with my colleagues and reply to you.

    Hi Iulian,

Can you please hint some example? I saw this type of control (ManagedHost) in DocuView form, but I’ve never worked with them before. If you know that I can easily find such examples by googling them, just ignore my request. Once again – thanks for suggestion.
