Hi All ,

As we all know that costing sheet works company wise only . Assume that implementing Ax almost 20 companies all are same manufacturing process , if i want to implement the same costing sheet ( may be overhead rates will change) , what is the best way to share /copy costing sheet of company to another 19 companies in Ax 2012 R2 ?

Thanks in advance.

    Manually recreate it.

Not all 19 will manufacture or structure items the same way, otherwise they would not be 19 companies. They take very little time to create so manually create it. Otherwise you could try to configure DIXF to handle this but you would need to investigate the tables and create the entities etc, which seems a lot of hassle. You could also look at configuration manager in LCS or look at a DAT/DEF export and import on the related tables.

Why not assume that implementing Ax to manufacturing company which is located in different countries and produce the same items and cost groups . My point is if i can copy the costing sheet can make required minor changes like indirect cost prices , instead of starting from scratch.

My point is it is quicker to manually recreate it than it is to set up specific copying routines. Your options are:

    1. Manually recreate

    2. Use MDM through DIXF and create target entities and processing groups.

    3. Use DAT/DEF import on the tables building up the costing sheet

    4. Write a specific migration/copy function for this.

You have the options - pick one.

The "best way" in my opinion is to manually recreate them, but I have that opinion where small jobs are concerned because small jobs put into migration scripts can sometimes causes issues that take longer to correct than would have to start from the beginning.
