Reserved Item ***** Is Not On Inventory

Good morning,
When trying to post a warehouse shipment, I am receiving an error message of "Reserved Item ****** is not on inventory" however, there is inventory in that warehouse with no other reservations or sales order consuming the inventory. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
I have the same question (0)

Are you using bins? If so, is the reservation and available inventory in the same bin?

you need to find out the available to take qty from a certain bin. BC has its logic calculating inventory availability.

    Hi Jun,
Can you please further elaborate on "you need to find out the available to take qty from a certain bin. BC has its logic calculating inventory availability."? We do not use Lots, Bins, order tracking policy or anything like that when we set up our items. We just receive in inventory into the specific warehouse, reserve at sales order entry, create a warehouse shipment, then post the warehouse shipment and that is where we get the error. Are you saying we have something wrong with how our items are set up in order to do reservations? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure I understand. :)

Hi, I think it's better to check the inventory again.
This inventory may be occupied by other documents.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

you could check a few places

go to the item card of the problematic item, check the qty on sales order. BC shows you the sales lines for that item, then check if any was reserved manually against the item. BC will see those reserved as allocated and won't make it available for other sales orders unless you cancel the reservation.

another place is to go to the item card, then check the reservation entries. Remove the ones you don't need and BC will free up the items.
