Hi Friends.
Is there any place where I can find an AX Data Dictionary? I mean, a place where I can read the Tables and Fields definitions and relations?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Escobar, what do you mean by "to read"? Do you mean that you want to get a list of table (for instance) in code? If so, you can use SysModelElement table or SysDictionary class, for instance.
It would be easier to understand if you told us what you're trying to achieve.
Also, please pay attention to tags you attach. Separate words with spaces, tags with comma and don't prefix them with # or with AX2012. You attached a single tag #AX2012DataDictionary #AX2012Tables #AX2012Fields, while you meant Data Dictionary, Tables and Fields.
Hello, Martin. Thank you very much for the feedback...
Indeed I used "read" when I should have used "find a description of all...". Sorry for that.
And that´s what I´m trying to achieve. To find a description of all tables, its fields and relations. (If not all, at least the most important ones such as VendTable, PurchTable, CustTable, DirPartyTable etc. Note that maybe I don´t even know which ones are the most important ones).
Best regards,
All right, so what do you mean by "description". Just names, certain properties, all properties...?
Again, if you told us what business problem you're solving, we would know what information you need for it.
We can't give you answers if you don't tell us enough about what you need.
I see... Again, sorry.
It is a "generic" search. I want to know (be familiarized with) the structure in order to feel comfortable using it. I want to acquire the knwoledge that will help me to solve particular problems and avoid turning simple problems into complex ones.
"All right, so what do you mean by "description". Just names, certain properties, all properties...?" - I´m not sure. As much information as I can find.
But I see your point. Right now, for example, I´m having trouble to check if a Vendor is approved or not by the company (I searched VendTable and DirPartyTable hoping to find a "Status" field or similar).
I think SysModel tables will help me. I'll "walk through" them after lunch (it´s 2:35 pm here, hehehehe).
Thank you very much. I´ll check your first reply as the answer to my question.
In time: I understood what you´ve said about the hashtags, but somehow it worked... Did you fix it? Or did any "script on the page" do it?
SysModel tables are an efficient way, but you won't find all properties there. If you need more, you can then construct an instance of the corresponding (Sys)Dict* class (e.g. SysDictField) and get additional details from there.
I fixed the tags. Most of moderator's work isn't very invisible - fixing thread titles and tags, deleting spam, moving threads to right forums...
Thank you very much.
Regards.
