Anyone with experience dissoluting (splitting) a company in AX2009?

Posted on by 30

Hi, we have several companies in AX2009 centrally hostet. Now, as in any fast growing business, we want to splitt one of the companies and run a seperate company as an independent new company. We do have Service, Project, inventory, production etc in use. Our inventory will be split both physically and in the system. There are many many issues that have to be considered. Does anybody have experience in splitting a company or is there a best practice guide out there? At present we do not know for sure if we should copy the original firm (all data including transactional data, but how to get rid of them afterwards?) or set up a new company from scratch. Any help more than welcome. Thanks!

You should give it a try, but you can start by copying the given company to a new company (including transaction data). Afterwards, in the new company, you run the class SysDatabaseTransDelete. This will delete all the transaction data in your new ax company.
