Dynamics ce 9.1 broken lookup to systemuser (empty user list)

Hello, I'm facing a really odd behavior with lookups to systemuser entity. This ends up in a short or even empty user list.

Does anybody can confirm this and have a proper solution?

My client is running a 9.1.x instance (eu tenant) with customizings from his former 8.2 on-prem system.

There are different custom lookups to systemuser. Affected are different entities - custom and default.

By selecting the user lookup the result is limited to only a few persons. By hitting enter the list is not extended to the available users.

By click the glass, to change the view, the lookup view appears twice.

The user lookup view is defied to be default for this custom lookup.

None of these two views are working. There is no result.

(In the customizings there is only one lookup view.)

By changing the view to another one like 'Enabled Users' the user list seems to work.

AND if this happens, all user lookups behaving the same way. Even the owner attribute.

Now the strange thing:

  • this is not happening always - sometimes all systemuser lookups are working
  • there is no Jscript on the lookup
  • changing the view for a lookup from default lookup view to a custom view is not helping
    • and still the lookup view is twice available
  • deactivating 'Change View' for the user ends up in an empty list
  • deactivating most recent used is not helping
  • till now, I was not able to reproduce this on a clean instance, but this behavior is 'happening' an all deployment instances

Does anyone have a solution for this? Is this a very special Unified Interface behavior?

Thanks in advance

    Hi partner,

I tried in my instance V9.1 online and all the systemUser lookup fields worked well.

And since you said there is no such situation in a pure instance and you imported the customizations from 8.1 on-premise to 9.1, differences between versions can cause such problems.

I suggest that you could raise a ticket with your organization url to Microsoft Support Team to let the engineer help you in the server side.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

    Hello Leo,

    thanks for your reply.

I was hoping not to be the only one facing issues with Unified Interface in this case.

I have to find a solution with a Microsoft engineer.

    Best regards Peter

Are you sure - you don't have any script or plugins hooked into that views?

    Hello Arun.

    Thanks for your reply.

I was sure there are no Scripts changing the view. We double checked.

BUT never be too sure. And indeed we identified one tiny little line of JScript code messing up the view.

    So problem solved ;)

    Thank you.

    Best regards
