VS Error - Unable to regenerate staging table

Hello all,

I have created a data entity and ended up modifying it later by adding two fields two it. I accidentally dropped the staging table. Now when trying to regenerate it I'm getting this error. Anyone know what is it about and how I can regenerate the staging table ?

Thank you very much.

Ashwin

    Hi Ashwin,

If you did check-in in Visual Studio, you can try to get the latest version form your source control.

As the first step, I would restart the development box.

    Hi Arnaud,

Thanks for you answer. I've tried that but I'm still unable to regenerate the staging table. Seems it's lost in the matrix ^^

    Hi Martin,

What do you mean restarting the development box ?

I mean restarting the Windows Server machine where you have this problem.

    First thing I tried. Didn't work :/

I think that regenerate function won't create a staging table if it does not exist. It can just update the existing one.

If you have the table on TFS you could get from there. If not, you could delete the whole entity and create again (if you do not have many manuall steps after wizard) or you could manually create the staging table.

I can't delete the entity. Following your logic however, you are saying that regenerate function only appends columns. Therefore if I create a table with the same name as my staging table it should be able to regenerate it right ?

I can't check, but it is possible that it will work.

When you create the table with the same name, check on data entity properties that the staging table name is still specified there.
