Populating a dataverse table based on a date range

Posted on by 163

I have an attendance table for students that needs to be populated with the student id, class id and date. So each day there could be 150 students that take eight courses each. I need to populate that for each school day in the year. Is there an easy way to do this? Would this be in a workflow? An import?

    Hi Rachel Ryerson,

The easiest way for me is Power Automate. Use the below components to accomplish

    1. Recurrence (Trigger)
      1. List rows (for Students)
        1. Apply to each
          1. List rows (for Courses)
            1. Apply to each
              1. Add a new row (Create attendance record using the above details)

I see I could add that as an import. But how do I cycle through each day and add that days students and classes?

    Hi Rachel Ryerson,

It could be done using import.

    1. Create a view that will not list any records. or it will b okay if you create a new line in excel.
    2. Open in Excel onlinepastedimage1674589592794v1.png
    3. Click on savepastedimage1674589720010v2.png

You can create records with workflow also.
