    Hi Naveen,

The answer to your question is no.

There is no standard functionality I am aware of that would allow you doing that.

If needed you have to consider making a system modification.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Naveen,

    Many thanks for the update.

Yet, I still don't understand why you need a daily depreciation?

What kind of asset is that?

If I'm leasing a car as an example, I would not consider doing daily depreciation runs because I regularly create monthly financial reports in which I include the depreciation of the whole months.

What makes this leasing assets so special that you need a daily depreciation?

Would be great if you could let us know.

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

    Dear Sourav Dam,

Yes , my client is facing difference in records in monthly basis , this is reason they want to run depreciation on daily basis .

Actually i have uploaded new leased assets for them and now they want to run depreciation daily basis , bcoz they are not getting exact value in monthly basis .

So please suggest me the good solution for this , and if need to customize the system then please tell me class and method name .

    Thanks

    Dear Ludwig Reinhard ,

My client is uploaded 1380 Leased assets in fixed asset module . and and they have service life in days . so they want to run depreciation on daily basis .

So as you suggesting this not possible in stranded ax system  , so i discussed with the client .

they asking for modification  the system only for these leased assets  , so please suggest me which class i need to customize to achieve this .

    Hello Naveen Mishra,

Is your client is expecting to record any difference or want to compare the values in depreciation if calculating on 'Monthly' basis, compared with 'Daily' basis?

I don't think it is logical to record depreciation everyday. However; need to know the business scenario why this is required!

Don't know the technical challenge it may raise to cater such requirement through customization but still recommending you to discuss this with the client to know the necessity of such requirement.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Hello Naveen,

The smallest 'unit' available in the depreciation profiles is either the month or the fiscal period.

Unless you have 365 fiscal periods setup - which is very unlikely - the standard depreciation proposals won't give you the option to run depreciations on a daily basis.

One possible workaround is preparing and uploading the daily depreciations. This would, however, result in additional manual. Alternatively, you can think about a system modification if this daily depreciation is really needed.

Can you actually let us know why daily depreciation runs are needed? What's the business reason/process behind?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
