How to remove a job - or inactivate a job

Hi all,

We would like to inactivate all of our jobs in Dynamics Talent, since we are creating a whole new organizational structure.

I can not find any documentation on this,

Is it possible, and if so, how?

Best,

Olivia

Hi Olivia, our experience is that it is not possibile to make old jobs archive - this function doesn´t exist. You can´t delete the invalid job while some dependent information historicaly exists (e.g. it has some historical binding to employee). We went thourghout the same issue and the only way was to remove all invalid jobs history from each employee and join them with the new structure, the old jobs you can delete then in order not to be offered anymore). You can find also an idea for it and support.

Thank you! We put an expiration date on the job, to not have it active and keep employee history!

Do you mean that you include a custom field with expiration date? And then you are able to distinguish whether the job is active or inactive, but the job is still visible in the overview? Thank you for a good suggestion for the future (we were solving a completely new start of the system different from the pilot operation)

Dynamics-job.pngWe used the expiration field that was already available, since we want to keep the history on our workers, so we didn't want to delete it. But if you want to delete it, you can do it like that, expiration date set to yesterdays date, and then remove it.

Pretty sure it can be done in data management, and then export/import files, and just bulk update the date there and then import the file again.

    Hello Olivia,

I wanted to check in on this one - were you able to use dates through data management to end date the current jobs, or were you still looking for a workaround? Technically, it sounded as though you were on the right track - as long as the valid to dates on the jobs themselves are ended, that should work to 'deactivate.' Let us know if there were further observations you saw in your experience.
