I have a domain account. I was able to install Ax on my computer by temporarily connecting it to a domain. Now the computer is disconnected from the domain. The domain user account is still active.
How to run Ax from an active domain account on a non-domain member computer?
I tried
runas.exe /noprofile /netonly /user:mydomain\myusername "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Client\Bin\Ax32.exe"
but it resulted with an error: Logon error. Unable to log on to Microsoft Dynamics AX.
How to start Ax with my domain account?
Best regards
There is an easy way out just install AX using Hyper v,
1. Enable Hyper V on your Laptop
2. Create Virtual Machine and Install OS (Server 2012 or Server 2016)
3.Configure as Domain Controller
4.Install AX
The only thing you have to have enough RAM ( I've Used 16 GB RAM, Core i5, and Allocated 8 GB for VM ), you can reduce SQL memory Limit, and then you can use without issue. there is no dependency on your current domain account so you can use it as much as long you want.
Thanks,

Hi Tom,
Dynamics AX uses integrated Windows authentication to authenticate Active Directory Domain Services users. Hence you have to be connected to a domain to run AX and won't be able to run AX on a non-domain member computer.
Please check these links for more information regarding AX architecture and security -
