    Hello Menas,

There is a closed check box available in the general tab of the dimensions form that should do the job.

If the cost center has never been used and will not be used in the future then you should be able to delete it alternatively.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

what does closed check box mean?

because i have some closed cost centers but still appears in the cost center combobox.

    Hello Menas,

Closed means that the cost center becomes unavailable for selection for example in journals, etc. If somebody still enters the number manually, posting will be interrupted.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Menas,

Yes you are right. One can still identify the closed financial dimensions in this form. However, no posting can be made, as AX Interrupts with an error message that the cost center is closed.

Do you really need to make a system adjustment if posting is prevented?

This might require a lot of time and effort to get it realized and the added Business value is at best small in my opinion.

Recently, a similar discussion was going on in the AX community Forum here for AX2012 systems. Even though the whole structure and security artefacts are different from older AX2009 versions, probably have a look at those discussions to get some additional thoughts/ideas on this issue.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig
