Hi,

I am new to dynamics AX. I need to Create a Form with Custom users tables to store the sales Header and sales lines and Then Submit it to workflow. And on Approval of the Workflow it should add back the data to original tables. Hence the Orignal functionality of SalesTable form will be there. So far i had created the Duplicate forms and Tables for This but these have the functions which keep calling the SalesTable and Sales line data and other related Tables. So how Could i do this. Any help Will be appreciated. thanks.

    Hi Awais,

You are mentioning some technical details directly. One step back: what is the functional requirement for having a workflow? I ask this because I think there can be another probably better solution for a workflow instead of using a new custom table and send values back.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your answer. The fuctional Requirement for this is to provide a Form to users where they can have the minimum information required to add sale Order. And When they had entered this information then we will provide this record to the workflow and when the admin/ approver wil approve this sales order then this will put back to the orginal tables and can be seen in the reports/Forms associated with the Original Tables.

So you need a simpler form because the standard form has to much fields/information?

You can have multiple forms referring the same table, so you shouldn't have to create new tables. Just create a copy of the existing sales table and reduce the form.

The biggest issue you will be creating a workflow for sales orders. I do not believe that you will have workflows that cover this and you would have to create it. That is a major undertaking...

Might I suggest using sales quotations to input the data. Simply reduce the forms and the approval process will be approving the quotations.

Reduce the fields in the sales quotation create wizard and details forms (salesQuotationTable) to simplify the sales entry dialogue.
