Set up of email alert and alert bell

Please can any one  guide me through setting up email alert and AX alert bell notification for users ?

    Right click on any field and you can setup alerts in AX 2012

    (There are some pre-requisites.

    Go to system administration>Users>Select each user>go to options and click the “notifications” tab

    On the  Options form  under Notification selection, enter information as required for

    - Alert rule based notifications;

    - Workflow notifications;

     Set up number sequence, batch task ( System administration>setup>Alerts> Change based alerts and Due date based alerts) etc.

    Set up the user options for the users who want to be alerted.

    Be aware that alerts can impact performance, if you don't think through how often it will be triggered, how many record it reads, what is logged etc. You will also get notifications from workflows and cases.  In many cases on screen inquiries or exception report are a better option.

    Someone needs to be responsible for management/clean up of alerts.
