Import Demo Data in AX 2012 R3

Hi all,

I am importing demo data in my ax 2012 R3. But I am not able to import it because I have my databases on server 1 and AOS on server 2.

I am confusing where to run this command and what path should I give?

DP.exe IMPORT “E:\Contoso_Demo_Data\DynamicsAXR3DemoData” MicrosoftDynamicsAx

I have tried it on both servers but it gives unhanded exception type errors.

Can anyone tell me how to import data in my environment and please modify this command according to my scenario.

    Please add the fourth parameter (database server). The path is where you have the data to import. Refer to documentation for details

    Run it on the DB server and make sure you have sufficient permissions.

    If you get an error, please give us more information about it.

    Thanks for response.

    One thing I want to confirm that there is no issue in importing data of different versions?

    As I have seen that there is contoso demo data v2 also available.

    According to the error message, the path is wrong. Please make sure it exists.
