Hi All,

I am sure you are keeping well...!!!

Please find that I have followed the following steps to create Project Budget from WBS line (Project quotation):

1. WBS created

2. Quotation line generated from WBS.

3. Creation of Project using Project wizard

4. During project creation Forecasted lines (model) copied

5. Project created -- WBS edited and Published

6. Project budget enabled

7. Project Budget form > Import > Forecast > Forecast model selected > Batch processing - No > OK

The result is: Not showing any error, No Budget line created.

Let me know what screen-shot and/or detail steps you need for more input.

Thanking you all in advance for your support.

Best reagrds,

Arnab

    Hi,

I tried to replicate following your setup. I am able to import the same as Project Budget.

Anyway a quick review the steps I followed: Category created> Forecast model created> Assign Category to the project> Either create WBS line and then copy to Forecast or directly create forecast line using the category> Use import functionality from Project Budget Screen> Success .... let me know if there is anything otherwise.

I think now It is better to involve any developer fro debugging. It will expedite the process to reach a conclusion.

    Best regards,

    Arnab

    Hi Arnab,

    Sorry for late reply.

Still we cannot import Forecast or WBS into project budget after changing the category setup as per your advise.

No error appear and no budget lines were created.

    Hi,

I think it is better if you can share your steps as screen shots and your requirement in brief we also can try to simulate the scenario and probably can reach a faster resolution. Thanks.

    Hi Arnab,

Thanks for updating us on the resolution.

We already updated D365 with platform update34 but still cannot import forecast or WBS to project budget.

No error and no budget lines created.

    For your info.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mary,

We have encountered the same issue again previous week....! The following root cause we have identified to mitigate the same:

The issue was occurring due to Category setup. If my (Hour and/or Expense) Category is as per Figure 1 and Figure 2 (highlighted area), the "Import" functionality from "Forecast model" and/or from "WBS line" will work as expected.

    Figure-1.jpg

    Figure-2.jpg

If the category setup is as per Figure 3, the "Import" functionality will not work.

    Figure-3.jpg

The above statement is our findings. If you can share your additional findings on this subject, will be very helpful.

    Thanking you.

    Best regards,

    Arnab

    Hi,

Still I am struggling to resolve the issue, I didn't yet reach to Microsoft!

I have escalated this topic to LSA (Lead solution architecture) and still awaiting to hear from them.

I will keep you posted on the update, at the same time requesting all for the same type of update if there is any solution before me.

    Thanking you all in advance.

    Best regards,

    Hi Arnab,

    Same with me.

I'm encountering problem in importing forecast to budget in project accounting.

I did same procedure as you did.

No budget line was created and no error appear.

We're you able to solve the problem in D365?

Appreciate if you can update me if you have solutions already.

    Thanks.
