<Ctrl>+<End> keyboard navigation works on lists but not on cards?

I have been able to explore Dynamics NAV 2015 and just discovered that <Ctrl>+<End> works on list pages (and presumably on the list that opens when you RUN a Table) to get to the last record in the table. When viewing a card, however, <Ctrl>+<End> does not navigate to the last record in the table, which is not very consistent with list view navigating. The navigation buttons on the user interface for a CARD page also do not seem to have a first or last record button.

The easiest way to go to first or last record in Navision (my experience is with 1999 version of software) using the keyboard was to open the order card and press <Ctrl>+<Home> or <Ctrl>+<End> to get to first or last order entered. My users frequently went to the last record in quotes and orders when they wanted to go to a quote or order they were working on. As database administrator I often went to the first or last record.

Am I missing something... is there a single keyboard shortcut or (if I absolutely have to touch the mouse) a button that goes to first or last record on a CARD? I searched the Internet but could not find anything relating to Dynamics NAV that gives a keyboard shortcut for first or last record.

Example: A manager is reviewing some orders from the prior month when someone tells the manager that there is a problem with the last order, could he or she please look at the MOST RECENTLY ENTERED ORDER. The manager could spend a lot of time going to a list view, going to the last record, getting the order number, then going to the card view and finding or filtering on that order number. It would be so much easier if the manager could just open the card view and go directly to the last card.

"Not consistent" is a good description of the whole UI/UX of NAV2015, sadly. This particular change apparently has something to do with the shift in the workflow from card to list. You now always start with a list (except sometimes... ;), and "drill down" to a card. When you're done with the card, you close it and move along with the list. This is the workflow proposed in the RTC. So, for some reason, somebody found it necessary to remove the navigation hotkeys in the card. This could be easily cured by forcing these decision makers to use this pile of inconsistency for a day. Maybe we should make this mandatory...

There are other marvels in there. Like, Ctrl+E in a list exports to excel. Ctrl+Shift+E opens the card. Now, guess what, which of these will be the one that is more frequently used?

    I need a coffee. :)

    Hi Sean,

As my understanding, there is no shortcut keys for first/last record on Card page. This is because of UI redesign for RoleTailored Client, that you start from List page and open the Card page from there.

It appears that the answer is what all three of you replied: there is no first or last record navigation for cards in Dynamics NAV. Thank you, Mohana, for the suggestion of adding that navigation to a card. It is a little tedious, but I suppose that can be done for every card used.

As with all their software products, Microsoft giveth and taketh away. I agree Jens, Microsoft needs to be forced to use their own software (or spend a few days with people who actually work using the software). For a long time they did not need to because they were so big and important, they did not have to worry about the opinion of users or quality of their products.

Why assume the user will ALWAYS start from a list view? I much prefer starting from a card view since it is faster than having to open a List Page I am not going to use. This almost makes me want to design  RTCs and Menu Suites for users to work like they did before the RTC was introduced.

Thank you all for you quick responses!
