Updating the Active Ledger Dimension Format during DIXF Import

The Customer has 13 legal entities and 3 of them have different dimension formats and values from the others.  We want to be able to "Activate" a Ledger Dimension Format at the time of import and not have to manually go to General ledger > Chart of accounts > Dimensions > Financial dimension configuration for integrating applications to select one.

Any idea how we can get this done?

Thank you.

I have the same question (0)

The dimension format types are not company-specific. The setup is a global setup. You can set up as many of each format type as you require, but only one format type can be active at one time.

    Khalid,

Thank you.  We are aware the dimension formats are not company specific and that is the root of our poblem.  We setup entity specifc Data Imports.  We need to be able to activate the correct dimension format for that entity at time of import.

    Hi Rick,

I am assuming you are using the "Financial Dimension Format" data entity to initially import?   Like previously stated, that is a shared table and I cannot see a way of accomplishing what you are trying to do per company at time of import.  Looks like a product idea/suggestion should be entered:

    Hi Rick,

Brian is correct. In the past, I already created an idea for this exact same purpose: experience.dynamics.com/.../

You may add your votes on this one.

Thank you everyone for the feedback.  I have up-voted the suggestion.  I am assuming since there is no way to call some code, the work around is to have the end user manually change the dimension configuration manually and run the import?

    Hi Rick,

That is correct. Unfortunately, it is manually a manual switch for now.
