Where have the images gone?

I got a call today from a client telling me they had lost their truck. I told them to call their insurance company. Actually, the truck to which they referred was the little truck that appears when you do a PO invoice match to a drop ship PO. She can perform this invoice match on any other computer in the shop except hers and see the little truck. She has a GP images folder on her local computer but I do not see a truck image in there. Are these images kept someplace else and, if so, where are they kept?

    Hi Richard,

Truck is a Visual Switch and uses Native Picture called "VS_DropShipped", and stored within Dynamics dictionary file. Per the documentation, "Native pictures are pictures that are used only on a particular platform". I'm not sure what that means, but per my understanding GP is supported only on Windows.

Are you referring to the 'Purchasing Invoice Entry' window? Images are stored in the .dic files.

Transactions->Purchasing->Invoice Match. All computers there are running Windows 7 and there is no terminal server or Citrix. I could try uninstalling GP and reinstalling  if you think that would help. Could this be a .Net issue?

probably you can just try replacing the Dynamics.dic with a copy from working machine before complete reinstall. Or replace the complete GP folder.

I have open the 'Purchasing Invoice Entry' form using Dexterity and couldn't see any 'truck' there. Perhaps the form has been customized. Check if the user has access to the modified/alternate form.

Can you attach a screenshot of the window?

Here you go. This version has the truck. Just imagine the truck not being there. 26 computers have the truck. One computer does not. This user can go to any other computer and pull up the same PO and the truck will be there.

Truck is in Select Purchase Order Item form...ie When you do Auto Invoice from PO Entry screen... not on the 'Purchasing Invoice Entry' form.

Yes, if you go to Transactions->Purchases->Invoice/Match and after entering the Vendor ID and click Auto Invoice you should see the truck as a visual cue that this was a drop shop PO. I will first try to copy over another DYNAMICS.DIC file and if that does not work reinstall GP.

Looking at the screenshot you posted, the form has not been customized and for what you are saying it is not a user security issue either, but probably you already know that.

I thought you were referring to the POP_Invoice_Entry form (Purchasing Invoice Entry window), you are actually referring to POP_Select_Purchase_Order form (Select Purchase Order Items window).

That 'truck' is a standard GP field stored in the Dynamics.dic dictionary. It was introduced in GP 2013.

    Field: DropShipped

    DataType: VS_DropShipped

    Static Picture: VS_DropShipped

There isn't any code behind this Visual Switch and it is used for information only, it indicates the PO in that row is a Drop-Ship. Standard POs will not show the ‘truck’ in that window.

Create a Receipt Number and compare it between clients, it should look the same.

That's very interesting situation. In GP2010 there was no truck icon. In gp 2013 there is an icon plus script is calling after GetPOID procedure, SetTrackedWarningCue of form POP_Select_Purchase_Order and I think this is handling hide/show functionality of this truck icon on the basis of PO type which will be returned by GetPOID procedure. It seems to me some version issue. You could do one thing to confirm if icon exist on this window or not, add this window to modifier , and check there if DropShipped icon is on the window or not.
