Hi, I have a problem about movement by template.

I want batch number automatically assigned to work . How I can do it ?

I defined location directive according below picture,  

and I can't select strategy for batch in this form , 

show me this error " Strategy FEFO batch reservation cannot be selected if work trans type is set to Inventory movement"

But when I called it for item , I must enter batch number manually

Please give me a solution

    Hi Rachelle,

    Normally the BatchID would be assigned at the entrance of the inventory into the warehouse (i.e. At the Report as Finished of a production Order or the Receipt of a Purchase Order).

    Are you trying to assign a batch upon inventory movement? Or do you just want the BatchID already assigned to follow along with the inventory movement?

    Hi Rahele,

    Movement by template is for moving inventory. If that inventory is enabled for the Batch dimension, it would already have a Batch number assigned. You (via the hand held) have to tell AX which inventory you want to move.... but the hand held has some intelligence in that regard.

    For example, if the inventory is in a location which contains one batch of one item, the hand held will fill in all the dimensions for you. But if the location contains multiple items, you will have to tell the hand held which item you want to move. If the location contains only one item but multiple batches, you will have to tell it which batch you wish to move.

    So in the Location in your example (tst5), do you have more than one Configuration/Size/Color/Style/Batch of item BASE_FNS15?
