How to edit Salesperson Code for ALL/MULTIPLE customers in RTC

How to edit Salesperson Code for ALL/MULTIPLE customers, from Customers list in RTC

I export the customer list to EXCEL including columns CustomerNo and SalespersonCode. I thought I would update data in excel and import back. However the PASTE ROWS command doesn't work on customers list. Please help.

    did you select the "Home/Manage" entry on the right list? if you select it, the add button should be active.

    As i mentioned earlier please use the universal xmlport tool to update the records.

    Jonathan, I checked it all.

    • Source Table (Customer) properties "Editable" and "PasteIsValid", were both already set as true
    • the page (Customer list) repeater's property ShowAsTree was  already set as true
    • the page (Customer list) property "editable" wasn't true so i changed it

    Still "Paste rows" not working.

    when I try to customize page by trying add action Home/Manage/"Edit List", add button shows disabled and won't let me add this action

    Hi Sanjeet, I want to act a user, not a developer. I don't understand dataport/xmlport, rather i want to do it as a user of RTC. There should be a way for a normal user to update records in bulk?

    You can use below trick to update the customers.

    Open the table and choose the required filed of table as exist in your excel sheet in same sequence. After theat try to past it. It will work.

    Note-: field's sequence of table and excel sheet should be same.

    can you Try Datport/xmlport in csv format.? To update your customer list.

    the "paste rows" is like in many cases and also in that case disabled by default (NAV standard). customer export, change and re-import should work using the rapid services.

    "paste rows" is disabled, if

    * in the source table of the page property PasteIsValid is set to false

    * the page repeater's property ShowAsTree is true

    * page property Editable is set to no

    additional you need the edit mode of the page to get the activated "paste rows" command. to get that, click on the ribbon button (top/left corner on the page) and select customize/customize this page ... there add action Home/Manage/"Edit List" from the available list to the displayed action list (menu  Home/Manage).

    can it be because Customer List is not editable?

    Create a new editable page with only Customer No. and Salesprson Code and try the same PASTE ROWS command.

    why doesn't a simple excel export-edit-update work in this case?
