Implementation of D365 Finance (on premise) W/O ADFS

Hi Everyone.

We are implementing D365 Finance and Operations (on premise). However due to some policy restrictions we cannot use ADFS for Single Sign On (SSO). The policy enforces use of MS Entra ID for SSO and restricts using ADFS.

Now the question is can we deploy D365 FO on prem without configuring ADFS and alternatively use Entra ID for SSO.?

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Hi,

Although in the official documentation of FO, only this method of logging in through ADFS is stated, please refer to: Authentication in Dynamics 365 Finance + Operations (on-premises) environments - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn for details. But you can try to use Entra ID for SSO. This is the official documentation for Entra ID: Microsoft Entra Connect: Seamless single sign-on - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn.

Hi,
The first part of the authentication process is to provide the URL for Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS).
The official documentation also mentions that the prerequisites for deploying FO (on-premise) are as follows:

1.Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) must be installed and configured on the network.

2.AD FS must be deployed.

3.SQL Server must be installed on the SSRS computer.

4.SSRS must be installed (but not configured) in native mode on the SSRS computer.

ADFS is must for the deployment, You can use Azure AD Connect (for Entra ID for SSO)
