Qualifying leads results in duplicate account record

When I qualify a lead record, where the company name field contains a company that already exists within the accounts entity, the system will qualify the lead and then will also create a duplicate account record, without giving any prompts to let me know that the account already exists.

I have a published Duplicate detection rule setup for duplicate accounts with an exact name match so I am unsure why this is happening?

    Hi Ladga,

Maybe you should check if the Existing Account has value. If Existing Account is null and Company has value, when you qualify a Lead, an Account will be created, and triggering the Duplication Rule.

In your scenario, it might be beneficial to copy the 'Company' value and paste it into the 'Existing Account' field. This way, when you qualify a Lead, the system will not create a new Account.

You can create a Duplicate Detection Rule, and set the Base Record Type to "Lead" and Matching Record Type "Account", and then the fields you are comparing on the respective record types.

Did you enable the global setting in order to have it fire the rules on create / update?

    Hi Partner,
This pop-up didn't come up? All users can't see it?
In the account form, There do appear to be records with exact duplicate names?
Try deleting the original rule and creating another one for testing.

I hope you can mark my answer verified if it is helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah
