    Hi Mohamed,

You can go to the Ledger form and then open the Ledger calendar. This is the place to close periods. There is a difference between 'On-hold' and 'Closed'. On-hold can be re-opened whereas this is not possible when the period is closed. For closing the fiscal year, all periods should be closed.

    Hi Mohamed,

If you set the period on hold, do you also get this error message?

Personally, I wouldn't set a period to closed unless you are absolutely sure that nobody (auditors, tax officers, government agencies, etc.) will request some subsequent changes. If they do, you won't be able to re-open the period. That's why it is usually better to put periods jus on hold. Most of the time you won't get an error message when doing that. Can you double check and confirm that?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Mohamed,

Best way would be to ask your developer to debug it. Based on your description it is not clear why you are closing the period and what process you are trying to execute.

    Hi Mohamed,

Try to open the periods for the year end closing process.

Once this is completed, set them back to on hold.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
