Has anyone had any experience with wiki's within CRM. Currently we use Confluence that has a ton a data in it. Is there a way to tie Confluence and CRM together or using something totally difference that will tie into CRM that will be like Confluence where users can search for answers/articles and where users can create articles which includes all the possibilities around pages, blogs, white boards, and within those items, pictures, links to videos?
If you are looking for functionality included with CRM, the Knowledge Base seems like the closest to what you are looking for. Not being overly familiar with Confluence, I'm not sure how it compares. It looks like Confluence is part of the Atlassian ecosystem, so it may only integrate formally with their own products.
Otherwise, in terms of 'integrations' with CRM you can probably handle it a few different ways depending on how you want your users to interact with Confluence.
You could easily add in a link to the CRM navigation that brings a user out to Confluence, similar to how they would open up the Account or Opportunity table
If Confluence articles relate to something like Products or something else you store in CRM, you could add a URL field to the table/form so users can quickly and easily navigate to the Confluence Page
In theory you could also do a dynamic iFrame on the form, which takes in this URL and shows the other webpage inside of the CRM form. Be cautious with this approach, however, because I have run into some issues before with cross-frame scripting and permission issues
