I would like to prevent managers from viewing compensation of their team members in Manager Self Service but would like employees to view their own compensation history in Employee self service.
I think this can be done by the security roles configuration.. Can anyone help with the steps please.

Hi Ian,
The best way is to go to the form where you can enable/disable the security
Go to Options > Security diagnostics
Here you see what security is assigned to this form.
Based on this, you can add/remove security from Roles.

By removing View worker compensation (manager self service) privilege you should achieve the described result.
