ability to update credit limit

Hello,

One of our users who has been able to adjust credit limits and payment terms within a customer card has all of a sudden started getting the error message when editing both fields to say they don't have permission.

I've checked their profile in the Effective Permissions section and they don't appear to have insert permissions. That said, they are over writing the current credit limit with a higher one, not entering in from scratch.

Is there a way I can allow this to be 'yes' but only in this field? It doesn't allow me to change it.

Also, I can find Payment Terms here, but no mention of the credit limit field?

Any help always gratefully received.

Thanks,

Amy

The payment terms you are looking at here is the overall table that holds the data. In your case the table you need to review permissions for is the customer table (number 18). Field level permissions is not a current possibility.

Organisations using BC that want tighter control over master data use approvals. There is a template approval workflow for customers that is worth looking at. This will at least maintain an audit trial and provide greater control.

Failing that you can look at the change log which can track field based changes, inputs or deletions.

    Hello Amy,

The field Credit Limit is at Table 18 not at Table Payment Terms.

In case you want to block some users changes I would say you need to create a new permission group to include Table 18 and remove Modify/Insert permission, recall that permissions aren't set by field but for all table fields  which means those users can only see the Data already entered by other users.

    Hope this can help you.
