Hi all,
Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer in the search results.
We have a PHP/MySQL based SaaS system and a client who is about to start using AX 2012 for their ERP system wishes to have their Product Inventory kept in synch with their area on our system (when they create/change a Product in AX2012 it needs to push update to our REST API).
I've done some reading and the AIF web services or the use of MSMQ looks like a good bet.
I managed to get AX2012 running in a Virtualbox VM on Win2008R2 but we don't have a developer license to test building the integration to our REST API.
So the question is how would I go about getting a developer license for AX2012? Do we need to purchase a full AX2012 license ourselves?
The Partnersource/Customersource portal setup is very confusing as we don't currently have any Microsoft account that I know of.
Thanks.

Thanks André.
My manager wants us to tackle this independently of the customer so we're not tied to their license.
I'll follow up on the MDSN suggestion. That sounds like a good lead.
I'm not really sure how to become an AX customer as the website for CustomerSource is pretty vague. I guess I need to contact a Sales rep for that.
Hi Feendish,
You need to be a partner or customer to have a valid AX License. I thought also MSDN subscription provides a demo license.
If the customer bought the AX license already, this license can be used for developing customizations.
