EAM Spare Parts Report discrepancy with actual inventory

Hello.

I am having issues running the spare parts report in the enterprise asset manager and capturing accurate data. (I'm having trouble adding screen shots here). I run the report by object in EAM, and when I get the output, the report lists multiple locations for each item. When I cross-reference this item number with on-hand inventory (product information management -> released products), it typically only has one location and the inventory amounts are completely off. The on-hand inventory data is what we trust. Our engineering and maintenance crew use the EAM report to monitor when they need to place orders, which is a problem if they run the report and see we have 1 unit on-hand and order more (or vice versa and don't get product in on time). My question is, where does the EAM spare part report pull from, and how can I align that with the on-hand inventory data to get accurate results? Trying to add in screentshots. Used the "insert/edit media" button and the "paste from word" button (output below)...

 Thanks so much!

CMC -> Enterprise Asset Management -> Reports -> Objects -> Object Spare Parts
“Object type”- Exchanger; “Dimensions” – check show location

Example 1: The report has 13 listing for part # 4876657 each with different locations and inventory counts.

When I take this same part number and go to Product Information Management -> Common -> Released Products
and look up its on-hand inventory (fast tab), it displays only one location with an amount that does not match the report (which says this location has 28 pieces).

    Hi AlmetaR,

well, you are talking about EAM i.e Enterprise Asset Management.

Unfortunately its not standard Dynamics AX module. Mostly its  provided form ISV Partners. I, myself have working experience with this module.

But, since each ISV partner develops solution with some different logic, so only person who has correct answers to your queries, is your ISV Partner, who delivered you this module.

If you want to have general discussion on Business Process of this module etc. you can share you question about that. But specific cases are best handled by relevant ISV partners.
