The usage of 'To date' parameter in Depreciation proposal

I have faced the issue when creating depreciation proposal
 
If I input the 'To date' NOT the last date of ledger period, it cannot generate any depreciation journal lines. 
Please advise why to be last date of ledger period.
 
Remarks: the fixed asset is using 'Full month' depreciation convention

    Hi J Lee,
     
    The provided date is used to check the last depreciation date on the asset books and then calculates the next depreciation date based on the depreciation profile. In case the last date posted is May 31 and the profile is set to post each month, then the next date for this asset is June 30. If you provided a date before June 30, it will skip the asset.

    In my situation, our ledger calendar is as below
     
    period 5: 22-04-2025 ~ 21-05-2025
    period 6: 22-05-2025 ~ 30-06-2025  (** end date of period is changed due to financial interim)
     
    in the last month, we selected 'To Date' to be 21-05-2025 and worked to generate the depreciated journal as usual. Unfortunately, this month, we keep on input 'To Date' to be 21-06-2025, no depreciated journal is generated.
     
    Once we input 'To Date' to be 30-06-2025 and worked as normal.
    Then, the number of days for this month will be more than 30 days to calculate the depreciation.
     
    Please advise
